Popped back to say life here is good.

Freaking expensive on groceries, but gas is soo cheap. Quick look online and you are paying 1.20ish per liter. We are paying $1.16 per liter. Bear in mind the exchange rate that 1.00 GBP is $1.75 CAD we are paying about 66 pence per liter.

Good thing it is so cheap as I'm now driving a 4.2 litre, long wheelbase TrailBlazer that does at best 18MPG........

Bump

Lol...

Sorry to be absent so long,

So Mrs Mav passed her first year at college with ease averaging 89% over the academic year (5 courses). She's now studying at UCBO in Kelwona which is roughly a 90 min drive each way.

She also has had her first book, well not book but writing published on amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dragons-Winter ... +in+winter

Mrs Mav's is the story about learning to breathe fire...

As for me.. well I'm just me. Work is going well, changed the Trailblazer for a 2012 Ram 1500.

Oh, almost forgot to say. Had a friend over from England to stay with us for a couple weeks. So on the way back to Vancouver, which bear in mind is a 5 hour drive away, yet the nearest international airport, I asked her what did she thing of her visit to Canada?

Her response... Well there is so much space and where you live is very quiet.

It was at that point I looked at her and just nodded.

Oh heck yes....

A friend who came to visit asked to see Niagara Falls.

The distance from Niagara Falls to Manchester 5,513 km.

Niagara Falls to Lumby 4,211km

Oh and there are 3 time zones....

Canada! So that’s where you went missing. Thought you fell off the planet. Eh, pretty much the same 😂

Almost a year since last posted in this thread.....

Wow, how has time flown by that quickly..

I've been offered my own store but to be honest I don't want the stress. Sorry if this sounds arrogant but been there, done that and it's not what I want as an old man lol

The quality of life here is so much better. Where we live there is zero crime. Here's an example. I left the truck running the other day. Forgot about it an about an hour later the neighbor knocked on the door and hands me back my house and car keys saying "you might need these"
